Haute Halloween: Favorites from the Costume Institute Gala

I absolutely adore the Metropolitan Museum’s Annual Costume Institute Gala. There truly are no rules, and the stars go all out. It seems to be the one event of the year where the avant garde is the norm. This year’s event, dedicated to the legacy of the late Alexander McQueen and his timeless innovation, turned out some unbelievable looks and reminded me of why I love fashion: the balls-to-the-walls, daring, innovative artistry of the Met Gala is truly fashion’s most fearless night.

My favorite looks of the night:

Karen Elson in Alexander McQueen

Jenna Lyons in J. Crew

Shalom Harlow in Marchesa

Hilary Rhoda in Alexander McQueen

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen

Daphne Guinness in Alexander McQueen

Diane Kruger in Jason Wu

Doutzen Kroes in Giambattista Valli

Lauren Santo Domingo in Givenchy

Taylor Swift in J. Mendel
